History

Our club has a rich legacy.

Formed in 1985 as the Dolphin Sub Aqua Club, what later became the Roscommon Sub Aqua Club was established when a group of divers decided to form a Sub Aqua/Underwater Search and Recovery Unit to serve the area around Roscommon town. As the club grew and membership increased many more divers trained in search and rescue techniques and the club now boasts a membership of twenty four active divers.

Two of the founding members of the Dolphin Sub Aqua Club are still active members of the Search and Recovery Unit and their wealth of experience has been hugely beneficial in all aspects of the work within the unit. The members have worked hard in the past thirty six years and have performed many searches in the lakes and rivers of the region.
